31.12 - New Years Eve

We all slept in long, except Anthony, who had to go to work. Céline and Alice went to the supermarket to fill up the fridge and get everything for having guests for lunch and for our New Years Eve. Clé and Martin had to do some organizing and cleaning, I helped them a bit and then we started coloring the carton houses of our Build A Bears. When Céline came home she seemed a bit stressed cause we would soon have invited people coming over, nothing was prepared yet and she wasn't satisfied with the children's organizing. After a bit noise and stressing the situation calmed down. I tried to help as much as I could and Céline prepared a very nice appéro and Lasagne.

After I got for Christmas the kit to crochet a bag, I got a crochetting boom. During the trip to England I had a lot of time to crochet in the car and that's what I've brought about. I'm satisfied.

I left to Lille in the afternoon to fix some stuff and to meet Vanessa (Equador), who's also working as an au pair. It was the first time we met and we went to a coffee place, Notting Hill, to have a chat. It was very nice to get to know her and we had surprisingly many things in common.

In the bus on my way home I kept on crochetting. Some people looked a bit disparaging, but I don't care.

At home we prepared everything for the evening and I skyped short with my family. Céline showed me what all she had bought for our evening and Anthony installed a disco light in the living room. We put on music and everybody started dancing.

When the parents left at eight we began with the children with an appéro and started watching the movie Frozen. I could also finally see it. In the middle we took a break and made crêpes. The children didn't like it at all that I told them to start with a salty crêpe before having sweet ones. Alice told that she had stomach ache, but I didn't really believe her because it's her normal excuse if there's something she doesn't like. Clé also just told her to stop lying but suddenly Alice puked. Martin called the parents and they told us to give Alice some medicine. After the medicament Alice ate an nutella crêpe with sugar and later also chocolate, so she wasn't that sick. Martin was also very surprised about having to have something salty before the sweet and didn't eat his whole salty crêpe eighter. I wonder sometimes if my rules are weird. I kind of prefered my salty one, where I put salmon and chèvre cheese. However, then we continued watching Frozen.

After Frozen we danced a bit. Alice made a crise and wanted then only to hug her mum, which was unfortunately impossible in that moment. She didn't want anything from me and I could do nothing. Then we began the next movie, Despicable me (Moi moche et mechant). At midnight we made a countdown toasted with apple juice, danced and threw serpentine around us.

After the movie it was already 1 am and I put the children to bed. They fell asleep easily. Alice had still many weird requirements before going to sleep but I managed. Martin helped me a bit to clean before going to bed. I organized and cleaned still for a long time before I could go to bed.

This New Years Eve was very different from the ones I've had before, but not bad eighter. Happy New Year 2015! 🎉
