9.11 - Wonderful evening with chinese dinner and friends

This morning i woke up at 11.30. I didn't believe that it was possible for me to sleep for that long but now it's proved that it really is. I immediately checked my iPad and noticed that fammo and faffa had tried to call me many times yesterday and then they called just in the same moment. They had finally installed skype! So we had a quick skype and I had this "beautiful" morning voice... It was really nice to see them at least quickly.

I did all my morning habits and had a shower and then I skyped with my family. Today was Father's Day and I had sent Daddy a virtual poster with pictures, memories and a text. It was fun that we had a skype while my family was eating in Subway.

I had lunch, pot au feu (tapioca, letter soup, meat, cooked vegetables), with the family and staid just calm playing a bit and then we planned a bit woth Martin what he wants to do tomorrow because he has off. Tuesday, 11.11, is a day off here because it's the end of the Second World War and some schools also have Monday off. Martin went to a friends birthday and slept over at his place. Tomorrow we'll play ping pong together and make an other cooking video.

Sofia and I met up for walking and we walked to my place from where we continued together to Lille by car. We drove wrong a few times thanks to the GPS and our orientation skills but we finally arrived half an hour late. We met up with Ramia (Spain) and Daniela (Mexico), who are two girls from Sofia's french class. We went to McDo for a chat.

At 18h30 Sofia and I had a dinner meeting with Rose, Iara and Pat at Le Palais Impérial at place de la république. Rose is half chinese and she told us about this very good chinese restaurant and she absolutely wanted to go there with us. Iara and Pat came at the same time as me and Sofia and we ran straight to hug them, as we wouldn't have met for ages. Rose came just after us and then Sarah (Italy) would come too, but she was really late cause she started from home when we were supposed to meet. We others just ordered.

The meny was very versatile. We all had a 3 course meal for 8,50€, which wasn't expensive at all and it was very tasty. Sarah arrived an hour too late and she ordered and joined us. We sat for a long time eating and chatting. I sooo enjoyed the food and the company and afterwards I felt soo full.

Afterwards some met up to grab a glass with a few others. Sofia, Sofía (Spain), Kristen, Brittany and me looked for a while for a nice bar but almost every bar with a TV was full cause there was some football game going on. Finally we found by hazard a very cozy and pretty cheap bar, "Boulangerie Bar", that was a bit outside the area Solferino with a lot of bars. We sat there until 23.30 but we had a very nice evening.

Sofia and I went home by my family's car and I drove home Sofia cause it was almost on the way. I entered at 00.15 and luckily I don't have work tomorrow morning. It has been an awesome weekend!

Here you really realize friends' importance because as an au pair you're kind of on your own because you don't have your family close. Even though you have a very kind and caring host family, the friends here are very inmortant because you sometimes need someone to talk to and to hug. I'm so lucky having found all these amazing people that have got my friends now.
